I do not view myself as a powerful or confident writer. But since my journey began I have been told by many people and for many different reasons to start writing things down. Originally, I mainly focused my writing on my Go Fund Me page. But now that time moves forward I see the importance of putting my journey down in words as part of my healing and that so maybe my journey can help someone else. Today is World Cancer Day and I felt it would be fitting to launch our blog today!
You hear about cancer awareness almost every day of the year. I say often I was aware of what breast cancer was before I got breast cancer. What I did not know was that it is much more than a double mastectomy, chemo, and radiation. My awareness was that older woman could get breast cancer, and that you will be fine. Awareness.
Now that I'm a metastatic breast cancer thriver, and the more I talk to people who don't have cancer, I hope this blog can open up a window on my life. Help me share with people what life with metastatic breast cancer is like. Hopefully this blog can shed light on what not to say, what to say, my daily struggles, my husband's struggle, my family's struggles and much more.
